the bolt that holds the timing belt tensioner is attached to the head correct?

in the process of taking the tensioner off, my BF used a braker bar and broke the stud that holds the tensioner pulley.

it was just the size of the nut that broke off, but now I wont be able to attached the pulley and lock it in place.

any ideas? I really dont want to replace the head. I assume I could have someone weld on a new stud end? maybe its threaded in? god dam Im frustrated and cant even look at it anymore.

ideas? before i take the breaker bar to his forehead?

Totally serious. Don't kill him, just take away his tool privileges for a while

Studs are normally installed dry unless they hit the water jacket; then they normally have a sealant on the threads.Stud in

stud out

Gabby, I know you need advice on how to be a typical girl because you are a pretty cool chick, not an evil ***** like most women. The trick is to stick this somewhere in the corner of your memory and whip it out in the middle of a completely unrelated argument years later.

Him, you used my favorite shirt as a rag? You, it was full of holes and dirtier than the other rags. Him, I can't beleive you did that! You, remember that stud you broke in 09'? Him, what? WTF does that have to do with this, huh?

And while he stands there trying to even remember you keep polishing your wheels with his shirt.

The double nut trick is the way I pull every stud, always works.

Did anybody else get a gay vibe from that sentence?

never before has have I gotten to use a hammer for something constructive........

now I can send him to work tomorrow to make me a new stud.

I would post pics of me holding the broken stud..... but well I can think of more than a few jokes that could result in.

Vacuum hose is a generic size, make sure you dont get washer fluid hose its mm's to big but looks very similar. I did that, had to do the whole job twice my knuckles never forgave me for it.

You want Good Year fuel & emission hose, they carry it at the AZ. Go get you some 1/4"and 3/8". I'm not 100% on the sizes but I will check for you when I get home at 3:30 today.

i would suggest socking the SOB with PB blaster if u can and then go at it...

I forgot you probably have 20 more vacuum lines than me.

1/4" for the wastegate and BOV and whatnot

3/16" or 1/8" (1/8 seems like it might be too small) for the FPR, MAP sensor, and boost gauge.
