tension rods

how are you supposed to torque the bolts on the tension rod when your not supposed to do it while the car is jacked up? i tried searching and thats all i came up with. help please

if your car is to low,is going to be a b**** to do,maybe you can use those floor ramps,you can just roll it up then torque them...

jack it up and put the ramps under the tires then let it back down. thats what i do. actually its like that right now.

i dont have ramps, and my car is stock cause its my DD, so sense its not lowered can i torque it without any issues?

Doesn't matter lowered or not. If you torque while car is in the air, this will happen to you. It's because rubber bushings get twisted if you put the car on the ground. If you have pillow ball joint aftermarket tension rods, you don't need to put the car on the ground to torque.



Use ramps or bunch of 4x4s, bricks or whatever that's safe.

shouldnt be a problem. but if you have a jack, then you could jack it up and put somethin under the tire (brick , wood , somethin safe) as long as the weight is on the tires. i dont see where it would matter either way though
