Hi guys, again it's me with some questions.. I am about to replace the tension rods and now I want to ask someone about their experience with the alignment after the replacement.

As of my understanding when I replace the tension rod I'm not touching the alignment related components. I do not touch the vertical alignment part so the camber should be fine and I do not change the distance between the both sides of the wheel which consists of 1. control arm length between the front sides of the wheel and 2. the steering tie rods which controls the distance between the back sides They are not changed so the toe in and out should be fine too... this is the theory

now the question out of your experience did you experience any alignment changes after changing the tension rods ?

I'm planning to do the struts replacement in spring so I do not want to do the alignment twice. My tension rods bushings are all cracked and I hear knocking sound so I cannot wait until the spring to do it altogether

I replaced my tension rod bushings a couple of years ago. I didn't notice any difference with the alignment. It shouldn't change anything.

alright guys, after speaking to a couple of mechanics they confirmed my thoughts as we have non-adjustable rods and they are just replaced no alignments is necessary. I have replaced the rods today and I felt no bad changes in how it drives. It became better, not knocking over the bumps and no weird knocking sounds when stopping hard to the full stop.

The tension rods set the CASTER [contact patch offset from perpendicular].

I would think that only if you got an alignment after the bushing was blown you would need one after replacement. But Im not a mechanic so its just my 2 centavo's.
