Hey, I am looking to purchase a set of new tension rods. I have been looking at the Megan Racing ones, but what are some of your opinions on them? If I dont get those ones, Im looking into K-sport tension rods, but they are 2x the Megan ones.

Also, is there going to be any negative effects on upgrading to new tension rods on a daily driver?

Get SPL tension rods. Hands down they are the best.

Please don't get megan racing or ksport. Both of them make ****ty products.

SPL tension rods allow you to run up to 10 degrees or more of castor which is more than any other rods I have seen, and they are very lightweight because of the aluminum construction.

I have the spl tension rods and they are very high quality.

What is the deal? It seems like some people on this forum actually like megan racing. Its all crap.

I have never heard of anybody having problems with megan coils, but I do know that the damping isn't great on them. Megan makes some ok stuff, but they still suck.

A friend got the megan tie rods, and they are too long. He had to cut off some of the threads to get them to work correctly. Quality parts right there.

I bought megan lowering springs back when this forum only had 15000 members and no one had heard of megan racing. After about a half of a year of having them two of the springs were sagging very badly.

It's usually not that much more money for higher quality parts. So that is the only way I go know. If you can't afford it now just save your money.

Do you have first hand experience with Ksport coilovers? Eveyone that I have heard of running them have loved them. I guy I know switched over to Ksports from his Tein ha's and prefered the ksports over the Teins no questions. If K sport is ****ty in your opinion, what would you recommend?

You can even compare Silk Roads to K-sports. Completly different leagues.

Who actually has first hand experience with the products? Both Megan and K-sport. Give me reasons on why there a bad products. I want to hear from people who have actually used them, not base their opinions from what they heard.

Another vote for the SPL tension rods. I have some but haven't put 'em on the car yet, so I can only give my impressions as far as manufacturing quality goes.

To sum up, these mother****ers look beefy. They appear to be very well made and I was shocked by their, uh, girth.

I would like to get some SPL's, but I am in Canada so there is shipping, and taxes and all that good stuff. I emailed the guys about shipping costs and they figured it would be like $50.

Are you planning to track your car, or drift it, because if not I would recommend just getting whiteline TC Rod Bushing replacements from PDM Racing, they are located in Canada.

the price is in the quality of heim joint used. the rest is just al stock machined to fit. ultra high quality joints will run north of $80 apiece depending on your source. alum goes for around couple bux a pound at scrap price, if not less. add some ss304 hardware and custom shims and theres your price. being in the tool/die trade allows me to make the majority of my own parts.

ksport makes ok stuff and so does megan. however their dampers are hardly ever valved to the corresponding spring rates they supply. ask how i know.

+1 for SPL don't settle for anything lessI bought mine when the ver.2 just had came out and they are by far the beefiest rods that I have seen anyone make yet (out of the normal brands people use ie tein megan kazama cusco...)

I thought about just upgrading to some new bushings, but I would like to eliminate the bushings all together.

The car is basically street use. I might hit the track once or twice during the year. I dont winter drive it either.

I got Nismo tension control rods and I busted the hell out of the bushings because I didn't have the wheels planted on the ground when I tightened them up. Dumb@$$!!!! I was going to just get a new set of Nismo bushings for them but I decided to just get a new set of tension rods but this time with spherical bearings. Whatever you decide to get, get something with spherical bearings and not the polyurethane or rubber bushing.
