What's happening Infiniti riders, I've got this clunking noise coming from front end at low parking lot speeds. I supect it's the tension rod bushings because they're leaking badly. I was curious, do I have to replace the entire tension rod or can I just replace the bushing. I ask because Infiniti Parts USA sells the bushing for this part, also while under there, what other parts have bushings that it alone can be replaced without replacing the whole part.

The bushings can be replaced separately if you have access to a hydraulic press or can find a shop to do it for you. A probably incomplete list from memory, bushings that can be replaced w/o replacing the full componet include:

-sway bar bushings and end links-end link rubber isolators-rack bushings

You also want to look at all new shock bushings and dust boots, upper links, and tie rod ends if you're going to do a full rehab.

Also front strut bearings if you replace the strut units or their inserts.

Hey fellas, I'm going through my topics to update them If a fix was found. This problem was found and repaired. It was the outer tie rods causing the noise and so they were replaced.

After 11 years you should be prepared to replace every single tiny component in the suspension and many components in steering system. That's where all the turning stress goes.
