Any suggestions for changing these out? Ran out of time today...couldn't find a shop with a hydrolic press before they closed. Anyone done these with a vice before (my home vice isn't hoss enough...bent the handle when I used an extention). Any ideas what type of shop would be open on a Sunday that would have a press?

I've got 2 pieces of pipe to use as drafts, but I think I need some serious crunch to get these to move.

This is a PITA...last time I just bought new tension rods...I should have kept them to put bushings in at my leisure.

Changed out upper links, PS boots, tie rod ends...can't wait to get her on the road, but now I've got to put these mushy tension rods back in for a couple days. This sucks...

Went to the machine shop today, left the tension rods to have the new bushings put in. Came back, the old ones were out and the guy tells me the new bushings won't fit. Sure enough, they fall right through the hole. Hmmm....

The new bushings, part number 54476-35F20, are 5mm smaller (at 64mm) than the ones that came out (69mm). So, obviously, the Q is grounded until I get the right bushing.

Called Scottsdale...they show the smaller bushings (54476-35F20) are correct for my VIN. They are going to send me the bushing for the active, which apparently are a bit bigger.

Anyone able to shed some light on this?

And apparently yours were replaced before with the struts from an active suspension, instead of just replacing the bushings. The wonderful world of 2nd, 3rd and more handed cars.

Rcvd the "A" bushings...perfect fit. Part number 54476-66U20.

Now to the tire shop for an alignment tomorrow.

May I ask... how the heck did you get the bolt that holds the rubber in place open.... I checked the torque spec - it states - 108 ft/lbs. What tool did you use - I cant open that with a socket wrench. Did you use a lug wrench? Also once you tigthen the bolt - the car has to be on the floor (the weight must be lowered) - how did you tigethen the bolts?

I use a 20" 1/2" breaker bar to loosen the bolts (with a 30" piece of steel pipe as an extension as needed).

I use a 1/2" torque wrench when tightening the bolts. Lowered wheels onto drive-on ramps for final tightening.
