I just changed my oil the other day and I noticed that my tension rod bushings are tore up(big crack/hole). THe problem is, my other car is still at the shop, I need to drive the 240 to work. Is it ok to drive the car with the tore up bushings??(sorry for the newbie question)

I have the same problem and I have been driving with them torn for around 2 months now just because i dont have the money to replace em and dont have another car. Only difference i have noticed is the steering is a little looser but should be fine, at least for some amount of time. If im not right someone please correct me. Then i will order my new ones tomorrow :-p

Should be ok, replace them with Polyurethane bushings from suspension techniques

You'll be fine, the steering will just feel loose. You can also replace them with Whiteline units. http://www.pdm-racing.com

would'nt be better if I replace the whole unit instead, like some tanabe's? That's if I have some funds...

Either way is good... tension rods are what adjust your caster, so blown units will allow more postive caster as well as a mid corner adjustment of caster.

You may hear a clunk when you turn, this is the rods moving around. Your steering will feel vague, this is due to the car's caster being constantly changed in the front.

The car also may develope a pull to either side, this can change to another side as the rods re-adjust.
