Hey everybody,

I'm going to be replacing my tension arms tommrow with some adjustable ones. My question is I know everybody says do not fully tighten them down until they have the cars weight on them. How exactly can I do that? I might not be thinking hard enough lol but if you guys have any ideas please let me know. Thanks a lot

For the adjustable ones it doesn't matter. The only reason you don't want to do that on the factory ones is so that you don't twist the bushing which will cause it to fail. Basically with the OEM rubber bushings, if you tighten it down with the car in the air you'll hold the bushing in place and then it will twist when you put the car on the ground.

Since the adjustable ones are solid and are basically like a bearing inside the arm itself, you don't have to worry about messing anything up.

It is physically possible to tighten down all the suspension parts with the car on the wheels, however much of it is pretty difficult especially if you're working on stands/ramps.
