93 J30- got a wobble/vibration really bad when I apply brakes. Does so at different speeds. I noticed the tension arm/strut rod/torsion arm whatever it's called the bushings are shot. could this cause this? How hard are they to replace? Do I have to break downthe front end or can I just take the arm off and change the bushing. I have access to a press so that's no problem.

That sounds like brake rotor warp. Check you brake rotors first. When you last had your brakes serviced did you use a Nissan OEM brake rotor at the very least? Generic brake rotors are known to warp on the J, because it is a heavy car.

Symptom of bad tension rod bushings are bad clunking sound coming from the front end while going over bumps.

Symptom of bad/warped rotors are vibration or shaking of front end while applying brakes.

Both need to be fixed.

I know the bushings are bad. I was thinking the rotor too. But it puzzles me that sometimes it'll do it just driving down the road. Which makes me think- Wheel Bearing. But I jacked up the car and it does not seem to have any slack in it. Any tell tale signs of the wheel bearing? Does it really cost THAT much? How hard is it to replace?

When you check your wheel bearings look for a lot of play. There is some vibration and there is almost a grinding sound that comes from you wheel.
