tennessee emissions

a friend of mine passed by unpluging one fuel injector without a cat.im about to put my stock cat on a 3 inch turbo back(inplace of the test pipe).other mods are front mount and walboro pump.i was wondering what chances i have for passing with a cat and unpluging an injector and if retarding the timing would help too.

if you want to pass the breather alot easier run denatured alcohol. search on here how to use it. my buddy ran it and passed cali emissions.

at least a few years now. my parents lived there 2 yrs ago and they had emissions. i think it more of a breather then visual.

that must be a west Tennessee thing. i don't know of any counties in east tn that check emissions.

if i were you yes i would put a cat on for the test and then take if off again. denatured alcohol burns a lot cleaner but with a cat i think it will let off even less polutants.

yea its only around the big citys though, nashville, murfreesboro, memphis, knoxville places like that yea i used to just put on a catco cat and it would run threw like a champ. its only a breather test unless its 96 and up then they plug it up to the computer and if a check engine light is on forget it they will instantly fail you

knoxville does not have emissions testing. (i live a few min outside of knoxville)

Alcohol is the way to go. You can even fill up half your tank with e85 and pass. And enjoy the effects of running a 100-105 octane fuel.

i have a 1991 240sx and planning to swap a sr20det blacktop in it i have read threads for days and this one is the only one that half way met my queston . i live in smyrna tn bout 30 min from nashville. can i pass emmissions out here with the swap plz anyone help
