Interesting indeed!

This paragraph was worth noting though:

Quote »Of course, cars, like fine wines, can have off-years. If a model year was infamous for recalls, it may not hold its value as well as a car of the same line from a year without problems. Curiously, a car with a high residual value, according to Kelley, may have scored poorly on Consumer Reports' reliability ratings. For example, the BMW 7 Series, which tops the list for residual value, also shared the more dubious distinction of its 2002 and 2003 models being named among the most unreliable cars on the market. [/quote]I simply would not have expected the 7 Series to be so unreliable ...

It's German, what do you expect. j/k

Nice to see the G coupe up on the list. Looks like we all made wise financial decisions with the purchase of this car.

Notice, also, the relative "exclusivity" of those cars.

You're not gonna see 3 of ANY of those in the mall parking lot.

Unfortunately, California never seems to fit the mold. I wouldn't be surprised to see 3 of each of those at the mall by my work. Then again spotting Exotic Ferraris, Bentleys and Lambos is not uncommon in that area either.

As far as resale, I've noticed Kia's have a very low resale percentage. Just paid a total loss on a 6 month old Spectra and it valued at 11K though the owner purchased it at 18K 6 months prior. She still owed 16K. She carried no gap insurance...ouch.

I wish the G's would come down a bit - I've decided a 6MT Coupe is gonna replace the Q in the near future...

Yep.

Thinking maybe like 1st of the year, although I'd pull the trigger sooner for the right deal.
