It's probably only for a day or two, but I thought it was interesting:

MEXICO CITY, Mexico (AP) -- Honda, Hershey's and other multinational companies temporarily shut down their factories in western Mexico on Wednesday after rebels attacked a key natural gas pipeline..........At least a dozen companies including Honda Motor Co., Kellogg Co.'s, The Hershey Co., Nissan Motor Co., and Grupo Modelo SA were forced to suspend or scale back operations because of the lack of natural gas, the daily newspaper Excelsior reported. They said they faced millions of dollars in losses.

Our Beloved Versas are made in Mexico. I bet it's the same plant. Stupid rebels.

Maybe, but the attack was in Querétaro and the plant is in Aguascalientes, which is two states and about 300 miles to the northwest. I suppose it could have been enough of a disruption to affect them that far away, but let's hope it's a Nissan plant that makes "less important" cars than our Versas!

Aguascalientes is the primary production plant for the hatch. There is a second production plant, I forget where in Mexico, that makes the sedans.

Right. I should have been more specific when I said, "let's hope it's a Nissan plant that makes 'less important' cars than our Versas!" I was referring to the Nissan plant mentioned in the news release.

Nissan did have to close the Aguascalientes plant for two days and is hoping to be back in production tomorrow.

Yes, apparently the attackers were part of the manufacturing extremist group "PACHAV," or "People Against Chocolate, Hondas, and Versas." This group has a large vested interest in the Toyota Yaris, as well as several hard-candy companies (Jolly Rancher, Charms, to name a few).
