What you have to do EXACTLY if the company you are working through as a temp decides they want to employ you full time. Any and all fees? A certain length of time you have to work with them before you can leave them without penalty, things like that.krimsonviper wrote:Full disclosure? What's that?
infiniti_lineup wrote:Do the best you can to avoid utilizing a temporary work agency. Their contracts typically have numerous stipulations in them that could state any of the following:
1) If a job is found and you are placed, you will have to pay the agency either directly or it will come out of your weekly/monthly salary
2) If you quit or are fired, you have to pay the temp agency a certain amount of money (typically a percentage of your salary)
Also, I did a little investigation and it appears as if most temporary work agencies share a database of job applicants (a.k.a. LEADS) and once someone is fired from a job that they were placed into, they become "blacklisted" on the database and loose many future job opportunities because of being blacklisted.
I'm typing from a phone, so I hope this is the bottom of your quote.
Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know about the blacklisting. So far I haven't been fired from a job before, but that's still a huge thing. I think I am gonna wait until I'm an RDA and can't find a job for some time before I sign up for one. I have until December/January to find a good paying job. If not, well I'm screwed.
Try Jobs.com, careerbuilder.com, etc. etc.
Only go to a temporary work agency if no other opportunities can be found.
Not all agencies are the same. The company I used didn't have any penalties whatsoever. Just don't assume that what is OK for one company will be the status quo for the whole industry.krimsonviper wrote:infiniti_lineup wrote:Do the best you can to avoid utilizing a temporary work agency. Hehe, humans with a warranty!G_whizz wrote: Clients hires you at 40k for a CS job
I charge the client a "finders fee" for the candidate like 16% of the salary and give them a 90 day guarantee on the candidate. If they don't work out, I replace them free of charge.
That's why you're still around. We tried to take you back but the warranty was up. Now we're stuck with you.PoorManQ45 wrote:Hehe, humans with a warranty!
