re 1987 Nissan Maxima, 3L V6
I find only obscure mention-in-passing of what I think is a temperature switch. It's located in the intake manifold at the front-of-the-car side, between the BCCD and the distributor. It's not the temp gauge sender, the cylinder head temp sensor, nor either of the two radiator fan(s) sensor/switches. It has an electrical connector/junction held by a bendable clamp that bolts to to throttle cable holder. The connector physical diagram in the manual shows the connector as "temperature switch." The schematic (I think ??) shows it as controlling an "injector cooling fan motor," of which there is no mention anywhere in either the Nissan manual or Haynes -- and I'm pretty sure I don't have such an animal. But the electric schematic show the switch/fan/controller as the exclusive (??) use of two prominent engine ground leads (though I don't buy that yet......)
Anybody know what this thing is and does? Do I need it?
Thanks for any help with this admittedly pissant question.
