Temperature issue from heater

I recently installed a aftermarket din dash kit from metra and within a hour of driving I started having idling issues when I cam to a stop and put my car in neutral (05g35/6mt) almost like Hondas do when the idle air control goes bad or they get low on antifreeze. I also noticed that when I put it at 60 deg it blew the outside air temp like normal but if I even went to 61 deg it started blowing 80+ deg air. I turned the temp control off right away and the idling went back to normal. I removed the metra kit and installed my factory radio back in that evening and have had no more idling issues. But the temp still goes from 60 deg out side air to 61 deg 80+deg air anyone else have this issue ?

I've not heard of the issue before, have you validated all of the connections?
