temperature gauge going crazy

ok so i have a s14 sr20det, and my temperature gauge is acting really funny. everytime i hit boost the temp gauge goes down, the longer im boosting the more it goes down. and now recently it been climbing up high, but not to overheating, and comes back down. its just really wierd does anyone know what could be wrong???????

Are you using an S14 KA water temp sensor or an S13 water temp sensor? You need to have one mated to the chassis, not the motor. Or else it reads way off.

yea it was working before, the one i have is the one that was already on the motor. i guess it was for a s14 sr

I'm assuming you have an S13 chassis from your user name, so you'll need to swap the temp sensor over to one for an S13.

the wire going to the sensor could be loose too.

hijacker i think he might be talking about and aftermarket gauge?

Who really knows what he's talking about since all the info he gave was that he has an S14 SR
