Summit has a Mr. Gasket switch that comes on at 190 and shuts off at 170. Would that keep me in the range I want to be or should I look for an ajustable. I'll be running to 12" fans on a RB20det in a S14. Should I run one fan all the time or is it safe to switch them both? The fans are 1300cfm each.

Thanks

iirc, the OEM R32 thermo switch comes on at 90ºC and goes back of at 80ºC (194 and 176 in ºF). If you run the R32 radiator, you can just use that switch. If you run an aftermarket switch, then you should use those numbers as guidelines.

Personally, I would switch both fans. The thermostat doesn't even crack open until over 74ºC, so you'd just be wasting electricity. Also, running the engine too cold will hurt your efficiency.

I run one 14" fan off ebay, 2300 cfm. It has a jeg's switch that kicks it on around 170 degrees. I could let it idle on a 75 degree day after driving and it would keep temps normal.
