Hello all, 1990 q-45 temp gauge recently started jumping around rapidly then went all the way to C then jittered some more then ended up where it was before about half way between H and C (think this is actual temp) then repeated the problem. Any thoughts on cause? Also experincing rough idle think it may be plugs or fuel injectors could that be related to temp gauge failure? thanks in advance for your input

I'd be checking all your connectors first and treating them to some conductive grease.

I don't think the rough idle is relate to your temp. gauge issues - except in that the vibrations may have made the harness move around?

erratic temp gauge probably due either to loose connection on temp sensor OR bad sensor itself (cheap at O'reilly's)

I agree with these guys.Check the temp sensor, plug and associated wiring for damage.
