Temp gauge sticks

So i noticed that my temp gauge just stops at like the 4th bar and doesnt move at all. i could drive the thing most of the day and it wont move. could the gauge be bad or something. need help, trying to get my car running well before college. thanks

Your temp gauge sensor could be bad. I would replace that first and see what happens.

just unplug that 1-blade connector, hook up an ohmmeter to the plug, ground the other lead to the engine... then start her up.... look for a change in readings as the engine gets warmer. no change=bad sensor... a change in ohms while it's warming up, good sensor.

soo then it may be a bad gauge on the dash or wiring problems.

can someone else on the board confirm my guess on testing this? i'm sorta newB on electrical stuff. thanx

thanks for the info, and yes you are correct at the way you said to check the ohms. my dad did that when he checked the fuel gauge in my old truck(pump was out so the gauge gave a good signal) thanks again.

ahhh hahah pretty good 4 a guy w/out a multimeter... good luck w/ that & I gotz to get me that tool!
