anyone running aftermarket gauge and can give me any idea of the actual temp compared to stock gauge? In summer mine runs straight up at 12 o clock and now in 40 degrees it runs at 1/3 about 10 o clock any idea what temps that relates to? I really need to add in temp and oil pressure gauges that read in real numbers. Oh and any recommendations on what brand gauges are easiest to wire up to the 91 HB?

Easy way to find out - Take the vehicle to a radiator shop or a repair shop and have them place a thermometer in the radiator and take a reading at the 10 & 12 O clock position.

any aftermarket gauge requires the sending unit made for that gauge. i used to run a mechanical autometer oil and water but ive had the oil line break before and it makes one hell of a mess i recommend using prosport gauges. there cheap and there full electric, and they work really good. i have a oil press and its just as responsive as the autometer.

it also depends on what type of thermostat you have. i have a 180 thermo and it will get up to about 200.
