Okay I recently have an issue which started right after the oil change. My gauge temp needle shoots pretty high during a evening drive. I did a radiator flush myself and put new coolant in the radiator, however my coolant reservoir tank always shows empty. could my problem be radiator being old or Thermostat being bad?

I'd do a thermostat replacement if you are unsure. I just did one and it took $12 and some RTV and about 2 hours of messing around.

Also my gauge is still weird. Clean off the 1 wire connector and see if that helps if not, replace that too.

If you aren't leaking coolant, check the oil and make sure its not mixing in there. It will look milky, if that's the case...swap the motor or rebuild.

The stock temp gauge is a piece of crap. VERY unreliable.

If you want some piece of mind and to actually know what your temp. is, get an aftermarket unit.
