ok, first off, i know this should go in the ka form but i kind of need an answer fast, not to wait forever, and pluse i will be putting in an sr, so here is the question

i just got my 240sx, and well the coolant temp will show that its hot and then sometimes will go between normal and hot, with in a 30 sec. period, so at first i thought it was maybe there was air in the coolant system, well i pulled off the bleeder, or burp screw and let it run for a while with it off, but that didn't fix it, so i bought a new radiator cap, that didn't do it, i burped it after that to, then i bought a new sensor but that didn't do it, i'm about to just shoot it, i am getting a code 13, and a code 45, can anyone please help me

Check the wiring to your coolant temp sensor. Those codes are for the coolant sensor, and if you replaced it, then it shouldn't still be throwing those codes.

If you were able to run your car with the air bleeder screw off you do not have enough coolant in the system, and chances are there is still air in the system. The bleeder screw should be removed to let air out, once you see coolant begin to flow out of it, you know the system has been bled somewhat. At least thats how it works on SR's.

dohc or sohc? if its a sohc the 45 is 45* Injector leak and 13 is Engine temperature sensor circuit

godspeed, did you find an answer to this problem yet? i just recently changed my fuel pump to a walbro (cheaper than the others)...and i've just been getting this same code 13 and 45 thrown at me? my temp gauge seems to readout ok, but i'm a little worried as code 13 has to deal with engine temps? so if anyone else has a solution, that'd be great! thanks...

well my check engine light is not on anymore, i changed the sensor and that fixed it, but you do have to clear the codes for it to work, yours sounds like a fuel problem, but i would check all of the wiring for the cooling system
