Don't splice to the sensor wire, splice on the harness side of the connector. That way you can change out the sensor. I'd use yellow
wire just to be as close as possible to original. Yellow with a red stripe wire is probably hard to find. Be careful about routing it
near hot things.

Ya I'll pick up a little spool of wire and solder it in tomorrow and figure a best route for it before I start and hope it fixes the gauge to read proper. After I wire it in, Ill check the resistance on that pin#16 again

Also, for it to be showing 137ohms resistance as it sits now, is that common for a wire being pinched or shorted out somewhere? Does it indicate anything?

Car threw a P0115 today, first time Ive ever seen that one I believe.

P0115 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Malfunction

Havent done much on the diagnostic myself, we got 10" of snow here today, and aparently another 10" tomorrow! I was hoping to get that temp wire installed and probed to atleast make sure the gauge worked before I solderred it in, but the snow beat me

Is the sensor still unplugged? That same plug carries the wires for the other sensor.
