temp gauge fluctuates alot

My temp gauge is crazy. It fluctuates between cold and in the middle alot. I mean, it literally shakes, and goes up and down. I assume it has something to do with a sensor, but I don't know where to start with this.

good posibility that it is a loose connection at the sensor, try wiggling the connector or cleaning the contacts off
