My car is weirdly"over heating" i can drive it, and the temp will spike all the way up within in 2 seconds. I turn the car off, and 30 seconds later, its fine.......

There is no way it can spike that fast, that hot, and return to normal temp in 30 seconds, so is there a way to check the Temp Gage with out driving it?

or a bad water pump
