Well I purchased this 1995 240sx recently for a really good deal, and i'm tryin to figure out what the previous owner did on this tein/tokico install. I think thats why he let it go so cheap, he diddnt know what to do.

Anyways it was clanking really bad on bumps in the rear, which I was pretty sure was a easy fix. So far this is what I have found. What do you guys think, do they look normal? The second one looks okay, but are those rubber insulaters even supposed to be there? I've done a couple spring jobs, and I don't remember seeing those on there like that. Then I was looking at a manual they had at the parts store. In thier manual there it looks like there is another piece of rubber insulator that would go on top of the mount. Am I missing that?

Oh and this killed me. Check out the ghetto weld job here. Hopefully he wasnt trying to drift this car or anything. Can you guys tell me what this part is called so I can get it ordered.? Yes I ordered a manual its on the way.

I also noticed on the front spring mounting bolt, one bolt was loose. I'm ordering that today.

Other than that its a pretty decent car, it will be really nice once this little quirks are fixed, 103,000 on the clock. I'll post some pics of it when I get the parts all in. It has a very nice drop.

Okay from what I have read its not the lateral link its the rear upper link that is damaged. I'll get that replaced. How about the rubber spacers, are those supposed to be there on top of the upper spring seat like that?

Is that weld only on one of the rear upper control arms, or is it on both?

The spring assembly looks to be put together ok, although I am far more familiar with coilover assemblies, so I cannot be certain.

BTW, make sure that those are legitimate tein springs, and not the knockoffs.

If you plan on getting coilovers in the future, don't bother getting an oem link. Get some SPL adjustable rucas.

When you replace the RUCA, you might want to consider also replacing the "toe control" and "traction control" arms to solid units as well. You can get these on ebay relatively inexpensive or get brand names like Cusco, Kazama, Silk Road or Tanabe, for more but better quality.

Well here she is all put back together. Everything is tight, and handles great. I see why people like to drift these cars, they are so easy to control. Thanks for the info about the control bars on ebay. I'll be looking into those very soon. From the looks of the tire wear I need the upper control arm that has a better angle than the stock upper arm.

And a pic with my other 240
