Look like an Alpine, and that's a good thing.

For those brands it's dependent on where you buy it. If you get all your audio equipment from Best Buy and the like then you=retard. or ignorant if you prefer. it may look like what you've seen before, but it's a cheap version of what the company used to be. It's comparable to buying all your performance mods from Pep Boys. It might look like the real thing, But it's a cheap ricer way to go about modding your car. People who don't know look at it and go wow, people who know look at it and go tisk tisk.

where offline? one of those wholesale warehouses or something? the alpine head unit isn't that bad. and i don't mean to rip on your girl or anything. I used to think pioneer was awesome. Then i started researching and i grew much wiser. But take Rockford Fosgate for example. They have an expensive line of audio that sounds great and is awesome. Then some kid sees these awesome subs and speakers in someones car and wants ones just like it. he goes to best buy and sees the same name, Rockford Fosgate. Unbeknown to him, the Best Buy line is seriously cheap and shares nothing in common with the ones he saw before other then the brands name. i forget which is the better line, Power or punch. Whichever one is at best buy is the worse one. but does that help explain what i'm trying to say here?

yah. best buy is way overpriced for the quality of equipment your getting. but the price is cheap compared to what you might spend at a audio specialists store. You wanna find out whats really good, go find one of those. But be careful! many of those can be just as cheap, quality wise, as best buy. but they'll charge you the higher price. walk in, if you see the same stuff as best buy, walk out. no questions asked. if they got brands like Hertz, Diamond, Eclipse, Digital Design, Canton, stick around and pick their brains. make sure who you talk to has no less then ten years experience and gets excited about what he/she is selling. If your around the Eau Claire area, WI, Elite Audio is the place to go!

I managed a car audio shop for 5 1/2 years dude. We were an authorized Alpine and JL Audio dealer, so I'm familiar with the brands.

and FYI the power series Rckford Fosgate is the better stuff.

And where is that shop now?Like i said. for those brands, it's where you get it at that makes the difference.and, again, like i said, watch out what shop you go to. Some will be "liscensed" dealers with the cheap stuff charging the expensive price. best buy is a liscensed dealer as well.

Actually, the shop still open and thriving. I left because I took a sales position with a technology company that nearly doubled my salary. I really don't feel the need to explain myself to a wannabe know-it-all kid with just over 30 posts. You didn't know the difference between the Rockford Punch and Power series, and your giving advice around here like the friggin' Dr. Phil of car audio. GTFO noob and have a nice day.

your immaturity is astounding. I'm sorry if i threaten what you think you know. But the audio market changes so rapidly and many names that were some of the best you could buy are now nothing more then cheap junk. And i did know the difference, i simply did not want to make a false statement as to which was which as i did not remember correctly at the time. So sorry i'm not perfect like you and that my post count isn't in the billions. Maybe you should look at the join date and see that i've been here for quite a while. I've been working on cars since i could pick up a wrench and driving since i could reach the pedals. My post count on this forum has little effect on what i know.
