well i was driving my car last night and it was running very smooth reving like normal and then it lost power and sounded like a subaru again, what causes this ? did anyone here experience this issue with the ca? my guess is a coil pack catching a cold then when i stop it really sounds like a subie power isnt there and it runs on 3 cylinders or maybe can it be an injector ?

Could be coilpack, also check ground to coilspacks. My injector clips are missing the little metal lock'r clips and they never give me problems.. so its possible, but i would probobly go go with coils. Maybe igniter. If you need any coils, i have like 5-10 extra..

Yep, sounds like a coil is dying once its warmed up. Eventually it'll stop working altogether. I ended up getting a remanned one at autozone. They are pretty cheap there. (~$40 iirc)

thats it crad once it heats up like her in maryland its getting really hot and it acts up when the packs heats up once they cool its fine. quick question what you mean by a remanned one

whats the part number for them or what car did you tell them you needed it for

Part # is C856. Just look under ignition for an 88 or 89 pulsar with the 1.8L. Current price is $42.99. Remanned just means the coil was rebuilt with new parts.

If nothing else, let me know and ill get you some. 20 bucks for coilpack, less $ if you want more. If you can get them remanufactured, I would prolly go that route.

this happens to my VW all the time, the coil packs take a crap monthly. To figure it out just start up the engine with one coil pack removed at a time, if the engine doesnt change when a coil pack was removed, you found your bad one. done this numberous times on the side of the road. lol i carry 4 spares in my truck
