I think I would like to see a full estimate with a list of parts being used.

Sound close, but a little low.

More info please.

Is he just doing the engine rebuild to KAdE spec?Or all the way to KA-T?either way the 2700 doesnt sound half bad, if youve got the cash and trust him id jump on it.

Doesn't sound bad to me if your going Ka-T for that price. Just get the part list and see what your being charged? And make sure you really want what he's going to put in there... GL!

What the car is white.....now you have to go pink or go home. You dont have to call it pink if you dont wanna, you can call it Tamarix.

Pink Valve covers, Pink LCAs, Pink Coils, pink carbon hood, DRWs chrome lip....pink center!.

P.S It has to be the right shade of pink....not just any old pink FullyFullyFullyFully Sik!

Using the stock crank is fine as long as it is machined, balanced, and polished to match the machined journals and new bearings. You want quality bearings and forged rods. As far as the block the basic hot tank, stress test, magnaflux, boring, decking

So forged pistons, rods, full machine work on the block, crank and journals, as well as the cams (even though they are new, the journal clearances must be on.

I assume new lifter with proper shimming, timing chain set, milling the head if needed, any type of valve job?

The issue I have is that all the parts for a proper build are going to run 2000ish, and precision machining and assembly usually run another 900-1500 so I don't know what is being looked over or not included.

ok, back on topic. That price seems to be right in the ballpark, but for some reason, i think something is not being accounted for. It seems a little low imo.

seems about a G low at a low rate. BC cams/top end, bearing, forged rods, pistons, timing chain set, bolts / studs and machining well exceed the 2700 price. I would think 3700-4200 for a properly built motor done by a reputable machine shop.

Pistons 550-900Rods 375-500Bearings / shims 100BC springs, retainer/ seat kit 400BC cams 420BC valve set 275valve seals 35gasket and timing set 350

And all else I am missing, so minimum 2405 parts alone add an extra 200 for missed / shop supplies and then machine work.... at least 800 more like 1200

I think your not getting a built motor.

i bet he's cheaping out on the crank and block s***. that or rods. you dont need forged rods to go big. my buddie andy put down over 400hp and 440tq on a kat with aftermarket pistons on stock rods.

somewhat agreed....forged internals for the win if the money is there but i also had a friend that put down numbers in the 400's with stock rods. I dont believe I would confidently assume no catastrophic failure could happen like lets say doing this on a 2jz but it has been done successfully all over the country.

All your parts are good and all but something i have yet to see being brought up is...what are you going to be tuning with???

i think its funny you think you will be "rollin" in about two weeks. you havent even mentioned anything about the "T" in KA-T. unless your going to be satisfied driving around a built NA KA it will take longer then two weeks
