Maine's right. It's a tube chassis. BTW, Tino and Lateral, the CRX doesn't have a "frame". Matter of fact, very few modern cars do. What it has is unibody construction, wherein the motor becomes a structural member and the suspension bits bolt directly to the "body" of the car.
Imagine this car w/o the body panels (which give the ILLUSION that this car is a CRX) and you'll see it's pretty much like the AA Gasser (class?) drag cars you see in the nostalgia drags... Kind of a shortened Top Fueler. It's all engine, drivetrain and tires. Probably a marine Chevy or Ford big block(500+c.i. which = 8 liters) Bet it hauls a$$ (in a straight line).
