Its a stroker i cant remeber what the block is... i've seen that car a long time ago... the porblem with that car is that the wheel base is way to short making it extremely dangerous at highspeeds....

I have seen an CRX w/ an NSX engine, converted to RWD, so it's not impossible...

It's not impossible at all, I have seen one that was rear engine-rear drive. But what I think little Tino was trying to say is... that's basically not a CRX anymore. There is NO WAY a little civic chassis could handle the power that behemoth engine can put out. It is obviously a CRX body smacked on a different frame with RWD.

I saw the same the CRX at Nopi. The NSX engine was in the rear hatch right?

There are some twisted people out there building cars nowadays. The crx frame can't handle that much power? Are there any car frames that small that could handle that much power? That is the biggest frickin engine, must be like an 10 liter... someone please find specs or 1/4 mile times for this car

Yes... older Jeep CJ box frames are know to hold up nicely under that kind of pressure..... but it's more likely a custom built tube chassis.

Maine's right. It's a tube chassis. BTW, Tino and Lateral, the CRX doesn't have a "frame". Matter of fact, very few modern cars do. What it has is unibody construction, wherein the motor becomes a structural member and the suspension bits bolt directly to the "body" of the car.

Imagine this car w/o the body panels (which give the ILLUSION that this car is a CRX) and you'll see it's pretty much like the AA Gasser (class?) drag cars you see in the nostalgia drags... Kind of a shortened Top Fueler. It's all engine, drivetrain and tires. Probably a marine Chevy or Ford big block(500+c.i. which = 8 liters) Bet it hauls a$$ (in a straight line).

yea, i was watching one of those hot rod car shows on espn2 last night, and they had a tiny little 37 ford that had a corvette engine in it. they didn't say anything about it, just that it had a corvette engine in it. but that's pretty cool. i guess that car was originally made for a v8 anyways, but it had a small engine bay.

AZ do you know how unstable the car would be?

It's suicide driving a car with such a short wheelbase that fast...

Huh... very few trucks are going to have frames soon enough. Unfortunately Nissan has yanked the frame out from under the Pathfinder in exchange for unibody construction. Jeep has been using unibody for their Cherokee and pickups for almost 15 years. Most of the small and mid-sized import SUV's are already using unibody. It rides more like a car, but seriously lacks structural integrity.

Yeah i kinda figured it would be a tube chassis prolly forged from some unknown insanely strong metal mined from deep inside the earth's core
