Well, here's the scoop. The auction ended with no buyer so I emailed him and asked what he had to have for it, and we agreed on $6500. Here's my situation-I was looking for a 95-97 240sx with about 100k, and then I was going to do the swap. Problem is I live in Minnesota, like Christopher (and no I'm not a kid thanks), and there are almost 0 240's around here. I was going to Illinois (is that a salt state?) and Ohio to look at a couple 95 and 96's next weekend. But, I buy a car for $5000 and now I have a $6000 swap in front of me, and that's without my labor. I saw this auction and was very skeptical, however I talked to the owner (Neo the owner/admin at 240sxforums.com) and they had the whole story of this car there and everything checked out. He got a front clip from Jarco and they're pretty good. My point is this, I'm buying a toy. I have a 2000 Honda Prelude which I've done some things to but I decided I wanted a faster toy, so I'm selling it and buying a 240sx toy, and then a daily driver within the year. If I went with my original plan of a 95-97 with the swap I now have a $11k-12k toy. Where with this I have $6500 into the car, spend another $1500-2500 to finish it the way I want it, and I'm done. Now for $3-4k and way less labor is it worth it? That's my real question. And yes I know Aerospeed goodies aren't top notch, I retail car parts, but they'll certainly work until I have the Tein set-up on there. And come on those rims look pretty good on there don't they?Anyhow, now that everyone knows my situation do you think I should go ahead and seal the deal, or should I wait and look elsewhere. Not new to sport compact cars by any means, but certainly not a 240 expert (yet), so I'd love to hear more opinions.
