Well it was a nice day in New Jersey today so I decided to give my G its 19th oil change at 59518 miles.

My LibrarySVT Notice my first book "Fix your Ford" by Bill Toboldt first published in 1952. It covered 46 to 59 Fords but unfortunately my 58 was unrepairable. Also i found my original old Motors Manual from 1960

Removing the 14 10mm bolts from the fiberboard shroud makes things much easier especially to inspect the belts. Also notice the alternator. Someone posted a while back that they removed their shroud and left it in their attic. Driving in rain without the fiberboard shroud will allow water to splash into the alternator. Not good for the electrical system.

I like the Motor's Auto Repair Maunal, 1960. I'll bet the page on the 1958 Ford, Starting system is pretty dirty!!

Notice how small the "Fix your Ford" manual is compared to the 4 volumes of G35 manuals!

LOL, I also like the Fix Your Ford book. You got yourself a little G library going there.

It's your cookies dude. Google checks them and sees where you have been in the past and directs you to similar places. Probably someone else is using your computer when you're not around.

Yeah... he looks like a nice guy! Does he have an apprentiship with the Amish or something? What's with that patch of carpet under his first chin? Is that to cover his proceeding chins or is that just a nice warm fuzzy place to rest your nutsak when he's "roommating" you???

Just kidding dude... I had to give you a little hell!

Sorry for the threadjack Telco... I'm actually really proud of you for posting a "how to"! I like to see your posts away from the norm of 401K's and 89 octane! You're a good guy so keep posting with your infinate knowledge! Don't let this thread jack discourage your posts...

I actually enjoy changing my own oil on nice days and it is not a waste of time. Over the years I have acquired a pretty good collection of tools.

My hydraulic jacks

I've got speakers in my garage and can listen to my Sirius radio (Howard Stern or rock music)while I work under my car. Wife usually leaves me alone. Between changing the oil, tire rotation and air and cabin filter changes, the savings of doing it myself are considerable. Brakes I may leave to the dealer to do? I commute 2k miles a month so the oil changes come around rather quickly. I can't be bothered nor do I trust places such as Jiffy Lube

Teflon...I've only got one more thing to say. If you drop the keys to your G... kick them until you get to a safe area before picking them up. (preferably outside).

Sorry telcoman for the hijack, but we're just trying to protect one of our bros here.
