You mean plugging in a scanner doesn't count as a mod?G_whizz wrote:LOL... I almost fell out of my chair Howie!!! I thought you bought mod of some sort!
So how accurate are you finding that towards your own numbers and calculations that you have done??
There are no fault codes in my G. It is kind of cold out so I only connected it to try it out. I only tried it with key on engine off. (KOEO)It reads out a bunch of data stored in the ECU. On a warmer day I'll spend a little more time with it with the engine running. It does make it very easy to erase any codes to turn off the CEL. It also has a USB cable to connect to a laptop and also will freeze data. I'm still learning how to use it but at under $150 on Amazon I would recommend it to anyone that wants more information as to what is going on in their engine.G_whizz wrote:!

When using with a laptop, is the data real time? This could be an interesting interface for an onboard computer for the car that utilizes one of the very small computers and output the text data to the LCD screen of the car.telcoman wrote:

Too bad there is no adapter to connect it to women Even Jacko should get one for valentines day and sleep with it while memorizing all the flogging codes in his G.

The data is real time and you can freeze frame the data. I only tried it out for the first time today. I need to play around with it some more when the weather warms up.From what I've seen so far I would recommend it. Makes it much easier to erase a code whenever one should pop up.pfarmer wrote:

The reason it makes me complete is that it tells you what the exact load percentage the ECM is using from the MAF input. There are many instances where the voltage is good, terminals are clean, ground and power supply are all great. The calculated load may be out of spec. The base parameter at idle varies greatly from 5-25% at ~750 but when an idle or no start is the primary concern then the cal/ld may be way out of whack. Given the known issues caused by a failed or failing MAF can cause on Nissan/Infiniti vehicles.tollboothwilley wrote:why is the cal/ld your favorite parameter to watch?
Unfortunately the software is not at that point on the entry level models to be hooked up in series and watch the live data. However it can be stored and viewed on a graph (varies by model). Depending on your needs and budget some of these new scanners can do everything but turn the wrench for you.pfarmer wrote:
