Flex = weak "carpet queen" (thanks Dori Dori) coilover

I have HE's and am very pleased with them, the quality is top notch and they make the car handle like a dream. Not EDFC compatible though.

I would definitely buy Tein again.

FLex are the same as th HE's exept that they are teflon coated and are compatable with the EDFC. Bothare nice set ups for street and track. Forgot they had different spring rates.....sorry

Flex coilover spring rates are 5kg/mm front and 4kg/mm rear, HE's are 8kg/mm front and 6kg/mm rear. Flex is definitely not gonna be a good track setup, way too soft. HE's aren't exactly a great street setup because they are too stiff.

If you want them for looks and for the street, get the Flex's, if you want them for performance and track use, get the HE's.

I had Tein RA's on my WRX. They were very, very nice...full aluminum construction, inverted strut (not for 240's though), threaded shock body, pbm, 45mm piston, 16-way damper adj, perfect fit (had all fittings for brake lines)...the whole shibang! My only beef was that the dampening adjustment was hardly felt unless I REALLY pushed the car and the ride was rough. But that should be expected with any 'race' coilover. Other than that, I had no complaints.:)

Oh, and stay away from the Flex unless you like gadgets and want a 'comfy' coilover.

I'd go with JIC Magic.

I have the HEs on my s14. I like them alot, not too stiff for the street ( the girlfriend would disagree ) and they do well autoxing. I think the 16 levels are kinda useless though because I drive around on a setting of 7 clicks from the hardest. That much damper is needed just to control the spring rate for normal street driving. I crank it up for autox. I would buy them againg for the group buy price that I got them at, but I think if I where to buy a new suspension it would be the JICs. Just because I have heard from people who have driven both ( Tein vs. JIC ) that there is a signifigant diffrence in feel.
