nightdriver, are you talking about coilovers? Depends on what system of coilover. Tein offers a few different setups for the 240sx. I don't know much about silk road, but I think they are a little higher quality. What are you doing with the car? Is it a daily driver, autocrosser, drift machine?

Chances are, with such a vague question, an entry level set of Teins will be more than you'll need for a long time. However, you would probably be better off with a good spring/shock setup.

The original question just says Tein. I didn't even notice he said Tein HE the second time. It got me too until you pointed it out. It's still an odd question though. The HE is advertised as a drifting coilover and will probably have a heavy spring set up. It is also a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than the only Silk Road coilovers I'm seeing. While the Silk Roads are priced about the same as the Tein Flex (what I have) so I figure at their softest setting they aren't going to be to bad for daily driving (in my opinion anyway). I've heard of people complaining about the Flex coilovers not being stiff enough for drifting. Don't take that as meaning they are the same though. I just figure (based on price) that they're competing directly.

Your best bet is going to be to compare the spring rates. Then determine what you need because higher spring rates aren't always better. And do you need dampning and rebound adjustability? Also most manufacturers will sell custom spring rates if you know what you want. Keep in mind that shops want to make a sale so it is to their benifit to help you out and give you information. Call around and do some research. Just don't take it to the point where anyone feels like they're being harassed. The condition of the roads you drive will play a big facter (concerning comfort and performance) as well as your driving style. In the end a lot of suspension setup is personal and will be different from person to person and car to car. No one here is going to be able to say "buy this or that" without knowing you and how and where you drive really well.

Also look at KTS coilovers from SPL. Many people on here have them and love them. They seem to have a lot of bang for the buck.
