well i have a set of tein tie rods brand new in the box that i got with the purchase of another s14. would one benefit anything from them while using in an auto-x or road race type environment? from my understanding, they just let you get in a drift deeper while still staying in control. i dont really do any drifting (right now atleast), and im wondering if its worth for me to put them on my car.

if you have them i would recommend putting them on. why not. the spacer just increases your turning lock to lock. they are a TON beefier than stock too. if you put them on at least you know they wont break. i have them and im very pleased.

They won't hurt anything, but there really is very little reason to use them at an autocross. At the average autocross, you'll never use the extra turning radius. They will also place you into Street Mod.

At a roadcourse, you will benefit if the tie-rod ends are stronger then the average aftermarket/OEM tie-rod end.

The rules don't say that you can upgrade the tie rods or change your turning ratio.

Are we speaking of the inner tie rods? or is this an inner/outer combo? I have 1.5 yr old moog outer tie rods and i don't like them.

if they change your class then of course you would want to consider that. but by themselves, my understanding is that under hard cornering stock tie rods can flex and would cause compliance if they did. also, if your car is lowered, the outer tie rods (ends) would help correct the geometry of your steering. how much of a noticeable effect that has i do not know, i have yet to replace mine.

of course this has nothing to do with your question, but tension rods are an excellent way of making your steering more responsive, combine them with lca bushings and you're in business...just a suggestion if you are looking into front end/steering mods.
