if they change your class then of course you would want to consider that. but by themselves, my understanding is that under hard cornering stock tie rods can flex and would cause compliance if they did. also, if your car is lowered, the outer tie rods (ends) would help correct the geometry of your steering. how much of a noticeable effect that has i do not know, i have yet to replace mine.
of course this has nothing to do with your question, but tension rods are an excellent way of making your steering more responsive, combine them with lca bushings and you're in business...just a suggestion if you are looking into front end/steering mods.
