Well its looking like my zenki needs some outer tie rods. Has a bit of play in the wheel. Anyway, I've heard mixed reviews about tein's outer tie rods, that don't hold up as well as they are advertised.

Anyone ( I'm sure a lot of you do ) have first hand experience with these tie rods?

That and if what I'm hearing is true, what company is good to go with?

i have em on my car since sep 07,approx12k miles . car is dd and driven hard. no play yet or damaged. My only problem is that my tires will rub on sharp turns that are almost full lock. Happens when parking and while slidin on full lock, i love them though

You'll want to get the inner and outer when you buy them. My stock outer rods had a ton of play and shredded apart immediately when I took them off.

Tein rods feel amazing. It made such a huge difference. No problems with them holding up either.

I have had my Tein tie rods for about 2 years and they are great and priced well. Kazama tie rods "may" be better but they cost 2X as much and are harder to find.

Do they rub because of the steering angle spacers that go on the inner rod? Maybe some hub spacers are in order.

I'm glad to hear they aren't that bad. My other option was to get the spl parts ones but they have to be used with a z32 inner rod I think.

Yes, I love the extra angle. I thought my car's turn radius was awesome as it was.

If you install the spacers you HAVE to use threadlocker. I used threadlocker red, the high strength kind.

yes i installed the little spacer they provided. the rubbing dont bother me too much anymore. BTW im running stock s13 se wheels with 205/55v15's on megan springs. i put thread locker on the inner where it screws into the rack (use just a little bit, like a drop or 2) i have both inners and outers. get the set its very affordable. Steering angles great to with the spacer

I have the tein tie rods and tie rod ends....i drive my car hard and love them... so far the best thing i got on my car with an immediate difference had them since the beginning of the yr (2008) put 8000 miles on the car already. Makes turning radius a lot shorter. got mines from advancespeedshop.com. check them out if you need that part.

No, you just have to use z32 or z33 inner tie rods. I got a set of SPL outter and the inners they sell, which are tein. The advantage is then you have much beefier inner rods. Also SPL makes the best suspension arms period.
