I think the AGX's would be a nice choice. Lots of people have them and like them. The only other good choice that comes to mind are Koni Sport. They've got a good reputation, but aren't externally adjustable in the rears.

The only other think I can think of would be some kind of short stroke shock, but they would be extremely expensive and tough to find (compared to the AGX). I believe Dori Dori has (had?) some KYB Buzz Specs that he got off of Ebay. He can probably tell you more about those.

Still, I think AGX + S-Tech would be a nice, affordable combo.

I *think* you might even be OK with the KYB warranty. You might want to ask them just to make sure, but I believe they say anything lower than 1.5" voids the warranty. The S-Tech's for the S13 come in just at a 1.5" advertised inch drop, and less for the S14's.

Still, if the warranty is something you're counting on, you might want to email KYB. They're pretty good at answering questions. I got a response within 24 hours.

I have a set of AGXs on the way to me now:) After a lot of research I found only good written about them. I also heard that Tokico adjustables tend to blow out. I have 2 friends that destroyed them within 3 months of getting them.

Tokico doesn't make adjustable shocks for our cars. They make the non-adjustable Tokico Performance Shocks for the 240SX. Their adjustable shocks are called Illumina, but they don't make 'em for the 240.

Your practical choices are:

1)KYB AGX2)Koni Sport

Anything else will be a product that wasn't intended for the US market. I'd imagine that makes getting anything repaired under warranty difficult or impossible. I really don't think KYB USA would honor the warranty on something like KYB Buzz Specs. If you're really interested in a short stroke adjustable shock, I suppose you could ask KYB a "what if" type question.
