tein makes a set of springs for the 95-99 maxima that they sell for about $230. They are dress-up spec. I'm wondering if they improve performance at all or not

You will want to talk to maxhopper97 and cjone76. They had a 97 and a 95 and put tein h-techs on then with the illuminas. They rode great and the drop was quite nice. They should be able to give you a better in depth account for how well these springs do on a 4th gen maxima.

I had Tokico Illuminas paired with Tein h-techs. Great springs. Depends on what kind of drop you are looking for and what kind of spring rate you're looking for.

I have TEIN S-techs on my 2000 and I LOOOOOVE the drop. The only thing Im having a problem with is the KYB GR-2 Struts I combo'ed them up with, they tend to send EVERY bump straight through you. I would go with a set of KYB AGX's since ur a gen4,these are adjustable and should suite ur purposes well. The drop for the S-techs is supposedly 2.25" all-around,I think mine went a bit lower, closer to 3" total drop. You will need a camber plate for these as well,at least I do,so I dont see why you wouldnt. The improved handling will be noticed Immediately, and you should be happy with them. I suggest you get a decent FSTB and RSB if u want to handle better than just springs/struts. If you wanna better deal on those springs/struts check out http://www.groupbuycenter.com ,I got mine from them DIRT CHEAP and very fast. Oh and heres the pix of my drop> http://www.pbase.com/black2000maxima/the_maxima
