Hey I'm looking at getting a nice suspension kit for my s13 hatch soon. I would like to start practicing drifting this summer. I know your thinking I didnt know what that word meant till I played Need4speed underground but I've actually been watching drifting for a few years now...anyways!

My question would is if anyone has experience with the TEIN HE and if it would work well as a nice/stiff suspension for daily driver as well as weekend drifting purposes. I have no illusions of actually doing real drifting for a while but I dont want to dish out money for a nice normal coilover set now and replace it in a year or so. Do it once, do it right kinda thing.

and ya i know theres alot more involved than just the coilovers, my question is really about their practicality not everything else.

thnx guys

To be quite honest with you the Type Flex Coilovers are a little better for drifting than the Drift spec ones. I know you thinking I'm an idiot but. You can better adjust you suspension to what your driving on. I like em a lot on my s13 hatch.

Nah. I think the rates on the Flex are too soft for drifting (6/5 I believe?)....if they were better designed for drift than the HEs, then they would've named the FLEXs as the "drift-spec" ones, right? :)

Anyhow, I daily drive on the HEs and I have it set on 13 front and 11 back....the ride is wonderful, stiff yet surprisingly STREETABLE. I love them. I used to have Kei Office XRs and Cusco Zero 2s and the HEs are my fav so far. Just my opinion. :)

Ya. I don't have the suspention dailed in yet because I'm waiting on some rear adj. arms for better alignment. You would be suprised on how hard the hardest settings are on them.

The Flex came out before the drift spec so as for the name I'm not sure.

Daily Driving on the Type Flex are fairly comfortable if it not on the stiffest settings..

Hey drifer, I have a set of HEs with the camber tops but only seem to be able to get about -1.5 degree camber on the fronts. They are on the 2nd last marker, last marker I would not be able to push it anymore in.

Surely I can get more neg camber out of this?

I think 2 degrees is the most you can get but don't quote me on that.....I haven't really played with my camber settings yet, hehe.
