I was thinking of getting these for my '97 240, but I have heard that the daily driving ride quality was not that good. For anyone that has these let me know your experience with them. How would you describe them?

my buddy has that set up, it seems ok, but any upgraded suspension is not good for daily driving, too stiff. if your looking for a semi-descent drive then get TOKICO BLUES with some descent lowering springs. your ride will improve dramitically causing it to get stiffer, but not to stiff. my buddy has JIC magic and he recommends the set-up i have just recommended. its all on you!

I have the prelude as my actual daily driver. I'm not looking for just springs and struts I want more than that. In the future I would like to start auto x and eventually learn to slide around, and I want to do my suspension right the first time. What would you recommend between the TEIN HE's and the JIC FLT-A1's?

If you want performance get the term "Ride Quality" out of your head.

Tein HE's are about a moderate level ride harshness.

I suggest KTS coilovers, they are better mechanically.

ive got he's on my 97 240 with a few more sus upgrades such as f/r sway bars f/r strut tower bars , ruca's , ........

its like riding in a stage coach at lower peeds, kinda seems like you have no suspension travel at all, it will jar the fillings from your teeth, but at about 45-50+ mph they are not that bad. as for drifting or autocrooss they are a gods gift to man.

how do the flex's compare to the he's? i am undecided between the two. i really dont care if it has edfc capability, just nice ride thats stiff with adjustable dampening/height.

I am trying to find out about Flex as well...I can almost guess what the HE's will feel like having ridden in a high spring rated but well dampened VW....

I want a great daily driver...the solid tension rods were about the limit of added harshness I'd want to encounter.

im thinking the flex's would be good for daily driving, and they also have a little wider height adjustment.

Get silkroads(aka Section Japan). They are the same price and are much more reliable. You can buy them at http://www.dgtrials.com.

as nismofreak said....if you want performance get the term "ride quality" out of your head. the HE's are a stiff ride...regardless of what you set them at. when i go long distance i just throw on the stock rims with 75 profile tires (helps a lot)

the Flex come with much softer spring rates(5/4) then the HE's (8/6) come with.....but i think you can order different rates also. (not sure)

no there are differences in ride height, height adj, and a few other. best thing to do is figure out exactly what you want from a set of coilovers.......then compare....most company websites list all the info as to spring rates, height adj, etc all you have to do is gather the info and compare.......i've already got mine and really don't wanna go through all that but for one of you guys that is looking into it, i would get all the info compare it and maybe even be nice enough to post it up to help out eachother.

np, I wish I had more time to spend on adding more to it.

I want to give a big thumbs up to SPLParts and especially Kuah. I don't have their coilovers up yet, nor a review on the items I bought from them, but getting them on the phone and getting support is super easy from this outfit.
