I'm lookin at the Tein HE coilovers and I wanted to know if the FNO1R-C in 17x8 +35 with 215/45/17 all around work or would i need spacers?

It depends on how low you put the car and how much preload you dial into the spring, that will determine if the wheel/tire will clear the assy. It's close with all coilovers (8" +35 fits my coils good), and I need to get the spec on the Tein spring diameter to measure.

If you dump the car super low, the wheel lip and tire's edge will be positioned alongside the spring. If you use a decent lowered ride height, the spring perch will be <just> above the top and side of the tire, making a nice (but tight) fit. This idea is hard to spell out, I'll look for a picture to explain with better.

i could barley clear 17x9 +15 with HEs, the perch clearance is pretty whack.

odd blurry picture, but you can see the clearance of 8" +35 and kind of see the wheel lip in relation to the coil

ok i see what your saying would a small tire be better? The height i would have is not super low, it would be right the tire with about a 2 finger gap or so. and I have a 91 hatch

Hitman, your ride height sounds ideal!

Chmercer, yes they are the GR-6. very stiff, maybe too stiff.

Upon closer inspection of the photo, that picture really explains nothing of the wheel lip's height in relation to the coil, just that the wheel lip clears the coil(very nicely i might add).

Use 215/45-17 for a perfect fit.

i still say you might need a spacer. i picked up a good deal of clearance when i switched from tein to kts.

what spring rate on the gpsports? 10/8 or somthing?

9/7 and to an old guy like me, the ride is punishing. Add in hicas sways and ES bushes and my back hurts after a long enough drive. Doesn't help that the roads here are junk.

The 17x8 +35 fits well as depicted. I put the set on my car finally and the 215/45-17 front / rear provides a smooth slow break from traction to power oversteer
