what are the differences between the tein HA and HE kit? How they differ performance wise and comfort wise?

I believe the only difference is the lack of PBM's on the HA's. I'm currently contemplating HE's. My friend has HA's and likes them, but I want the PBM's.

ahh silly Ryan, how dare you try to talk suspension :D

first off, the HE's are an aluminum bodied, montube strut with bth height and spring preload adjustment for precise cornerweighting abilities. The HE spingrates are considerbly stiffer than the HA and the damper itself is also more aggressively valved.

Te HA is a geat beginner full coilover system if you do some minor autocrossing and lots of street driving, but if you ever plan to do lots of autocrossing and roadracing, you wil DEFINITELY not want them.

The HE's are pretty stiff when set to their stiffest setting, but are actually quite nice when you set them to full soft.

Also, they come with the upper mount and that alone is wirth it to me :)

I have the HE's and they have been very good with my drifting and autocrossing.

BTW: Me>Ryan :D

EDIT: sorry bout the spelling and punctuation errors, i am typing on a wireless keboard with low batteries in my hotel room at the moment...

Only in the suspension corner buddy. After I posted here, I started browsing the suspension forum, and read that thread on the HE's. I then realized the error of my ways. But I can't edit my posts, so screw it.

Just a warning...some people find the standard spring rate for the HE's (8kgf/mm front, 6kgf/mm rear) to be a bit too stiff for daily driving. Then again, some people love 'em. I guess it depends on taste and the quality of the roads you regularly drive on. Just don't have any illusions about running a spring 4x stiffer than stock and retaining that Cadillac-like ride quality. ;)

If you buy from a licensed Tein dealer, you can ask about changing the spring rate. I believe you have a range of +/- 2kgf/mm front and rear when changing springs. I think it's something like $50 per spring, but you may be able to custom order up front (I've read that JIC does this).

I was going to buy the HE's, but decided I didn't *really* need the adjustability for my purposes. Not being a track guy, I couldn't really justify the purcahse. I'm getting ready to order a more modest KYB AGX + RS-R Race spring setup.

From all the research I did, they certainly seem to be the most bang for the buck as far as the Tein lineup goes.

Not sure if they're a licensed dealer, but phase2motortrend.com has a good price and they've got a good rep.

Wouldn't order from anyone else. I'm going to get mine in the coming weeks I believe. Have to make sure they clear my wheels first though.

Yeah, Phase2 rocks. They've been super helpful. I'm getting ready to order some RS-R springs from them, and hopefully some Tein camber plates too.
