This is the coilover that i believe that i am heading for as of now cause its cost effective, lol, and instead of goin for a spring/shock combo, these come together. I am asking people to chime in if they have these and if its good or not. Also i would like to hear what others have for their suspensions setups are and if they are happy. Im interested in you guys opinions so feel free to comment on anything!:D

Edit: if this has been asked before and/or this isnt the right place to put this, sorry never really asked performance questions before:)

Hey Downshift, why don't you ask Brandon(Koukimonster) on 240sx.net. I think he has that coilover setup.

finally....a respsonse....thank you! now for some questions:

i believe they were adjustable height so how low do you have yours? since your car is now lower, is it possible you could post a pic of how they look with the car? does the ride feel close or better than stock?

my buddy actually took me for a ride in his tein SS. Suprisingly it was pretty smooth. You do feel a slight body roll but it a upgrade from the stock suspensions. Its really hard to say since most 240 are over 10yrs old.

Ive heard that the TEIN SS are softer, but better than stock too, i hope the BAsics are a little more stiff =]

Good thread if we can get some more responses.

Although my car is down right now, I got some tein basics and some tein pillowball mounts. I havent installed them though (no need if the car is down and I decide to do a swap). Im only gonna be doing some daily driving, so...

i have them pretty well matched springs and shock combo. Not too stiff but very little body roll. I also am running mine close to the lowest they go, it gets prettty low.

Same here, on daily driving with some 15" wheels.

i have the basics on my s13 hatch......i think theyre great for the price.......mine are halfway down the thread with the fronts a lil higher cuz with the lip it is so damn low......the ride is of course a little bit harsher than stock.....but its not to bad, and the spring rates are a decent 6/6.....im pretty sure the tein HE's and silkroads are 8/6......but yea they are definitely worth it depending on your budget.......if you have anyother questions jsut ask.....

its not really noticeable by camera but the car definately sits lower and i have the front set soft and the rear adjusted full stiff for some slip and slide action ;)

are u sure you have teh Basics?......they dont have adjustable dampening.....only height.....at least mine dont anyway.....and i dunno how low urs are......but mine are halfway down and u can def tell.......check out my gallery on here at

http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....11159

ps maybe youre confusing the basics with the stech springs and dampening adjustable shocks

Hey NiSmo240luvR, your cars stance is just right! Whenever I get my S13, I'll consider these too.

BTW, anyone here AutoX with this setup?

sorry that would be it. I just have the rear adjusted higher than the front (less distance for spring travel) plus when the coil is compressed more isnt the spring rate increased?? to tired to think :(

thanx man.....theyre definitely awesome for the price......so much better than a non matching spring shock combo...... and no i havent autox'ed them yet, but i plan to soon........i have drifted with them quite a few times and they do pretty well....i dont think therye designed with one specific motorsport in mind so theyre decent all around.......id love to try an open track event one of these days too if i could find one by me......

im pretty sure for drifting you want a higher spring rate in the front?...i might be wrong on this.....but i know the tein he's spring rates are 8/6 and so are the silkroads.......
