Sup yall, just installed some Tein Basics on my 04 2.5sl and love the ride quality! Front is maxxxed out while da rear is half so there is even wheel gap between both. Just got a problem whenever i make a simple turn either direction. There is a pinging sound from the front coils, as if the front end raises up a bit while turning and makes dat sound!!! It sounds like the coils decompress a bit when the wheel is turned and causes it to make dat sound, but other than that everything is ok. Lemme know what yall think or if you have experienced dis problem also, thnx my fellow alti owners...

Your springs are not set evenly. You can fix this on your own or bring it back. What needs to be done is the car needs to be lifted (or jack up one front wheel at a time) and you need to grab hold of the springs and turn them using both hands. You can see toward the top of the strut that there is a blunt end that the end of the spring must meet to ensure they are "set". When they are not set, the springs aren't properly supporting the (in your case) front end of the chassis. This is a simple fix, and hopefully nothing went wrong with the install.

Let me know how it turns out, or if you don't understand.

Also, be sure to reference other threads. This questions has been asked dozens of times. You can always reference specific areas of your car in the Altima Sedan/Altima Coupe portion of the forums. This answer is repeated several times under the "Suspension, Rims, blah blah blah" portion of the forum.

Good luck~

Ey thnx for the info. And i managed to fix the problem. I noticed my front driver side setup was missing an important white plastic retainer piece thingy that sets the coil into the strut topping. I noticed from my stock struts that were laying around had only one of those things still on it, so it was just a simple part that i happen to look over when installing my basics. maybe i was too eager to put the coilovers on and easily missed that piece? well all is good now, as my ride is quiet when turning as it should...
