Basics are just height adjustable. really, they are different prices because they serve different purposes.

perhaps you should do some research before diving into something like this...

if you are just going for a look and you slam your car without consideration for anything else suspension-wise, be prepared to pay for it. if you have to

ALSO: this is the wrong place for a suspension-related thread. i will move this for you, but please PLEASE realize 2 things:

- you need to put threads where they belong to get the best answers.

- if you have to come here asking us about the differences in a company's product in general instead of specific attributes and how they relate to our cars, you aren't doing the MINIMUM required for you to actually be able to purchase and install it. Tein has all sorts of info on their site that you can further supplement by SEARCHING Nico and the web to get your answers about stuff like that. The info you will get by using that method will be better since it will be subjective instead of several posts of indirect references and hearsay.

d!ck pretty much nailed it, as usual.

Youre trying to compare apples to oranges. Im one of the few people running Ten Basics and Ive had a pretty good experience with them. Granted, I got them for $500 (the price of a good spring/shock combo). They arent dampening adjustable, but if you dail drive your car and rarely see track time that shouldnt make a differance.

Ive riden on many other coilovers and they definately feel alot better than my basics. The Flexs feel much more controlled, not nearly as bouncy as the Basics.

But, it all comes down to how much you want to spend and how much youll -really- need adjustable dampening. To me, it sounds like the Basics would be enough for you. Eventually Id like to upgrade to Cusco's after riding on various other coilovers.

for you, just go with a basic shock/spring combo. its as simple as you can get and its easy to tell that would benefit you more than adjustable suspension.

the simple, cheap, tried-and-true combo is usually tein s-techs and kyb gr2 springs. i guess you want someone telling you the answer to something that you can only really find out yourself, so just go with that.

Kbee coilovers. My buddy got a set brand new for under $900. We went driving on the highway with it, surprisingly its a very smooth ride.

don't double-post the same reply, we got what you said (word for word) the first time.

if you cant find your own info and you cant even deal with being force-fed suggestions, perhaps its a good sign you should just leave the car alone. you think it rides poorly now, just wait until you install something without knowing what youre doing.
