yet you obviously dont know good grammar or spelling. The tanabe sustec DD isnt really that great of a drift-specific suspension, and most race suspension can easily be tuned for drifing, especially the stiffer ones.

but thats just my opinion. To me, getting a "drift specific" suspension would only be warranted if you build the car for drifting, ala what signal auto, HKS, etc have done with their cars....

If you want to get them, its your dollar, and I'd love to hear how they do. Also making smarmy remarks to a much more established member and stating "fyi, I've done X" doesn't get you any more respect, becase you havent backed it up with any proof.

anyways, to the origional poster, you may want to just get a good set of springs and an adjustable shock, like some tein S_techs and KYB AGX's, this will allow a better adjustment for your tastes(the dampening) you can check the suspension FAQ I compiled to figure out what spring rates you want allong with the ride height and go from there.-chet

Tein basic doesn't have the "same spring rate as stock"whatever that means. I think that the basics are gonna be better than a spring shock combo since they 'should' be made with the right valving/spring rate to match each other. I don't know about the tanabe, has a higher spring rate if i remember correctly than the basics, so a little bit more oriented for drifting maybe, havent really looked into them since i dont think they make them for the s13, and if they do, jspec.com doesnt offer them.

i was wondering what the hell "same as stock" means, but thanx for ur opinionwell i'm also lookin at a spring, shock/strut combo as well. i was thinkin Tanabe DF210 with agx, i like to have a low look as well as performance, thats y i was lookin into the entry level coilovers

if you are on a budget and want relativley good performance over stock, you could try the standard agx/prokit. personally i have not used this but i have heard it is a good bang for the buck strut/spring combo.

edit - on the tein basics having the same spring rate, this is totally false. they come with 6 kgf/mm springs on all 4 corners. if you wanted a drift suspension you could probably order it with harder springs in the back and a proper revalve, but then you might as well get a better coilover.

seriously this may sound stupid to people that HAVEN'T used these coilovers...but try the mookeeh MVI or something of that nature on ebay. a buddy of mine has them and damn they are great coilovers. reminded us of the tein he. we also have tested the Flex, JIC Fla-2(?), Tanabe DD and He out of all of those the Flex and He is what we liked best...until he bought the mookeeh ones.
