I have no first hand experience with the Tein Basic setup, but just from looking at the specs, a few things come to mind.
For between $100-200 more than the AGX/Pro Kit combo, you would get height adjustability and a *much* stiffer linear rate spring.
Hopefully, someone can tell you what the ride quality on the Basic dampers is like. We already know that the AGX/Pro Kit combo is very manageable as far as ride quality goes.
If you aren't going to be hitting the track, I'd say the AGX + quality springs would probably be a nice, economical choice for you. Lots of people around here match up the AGX shocks with some good lowering springs and end up with a nice street/occasional track car.
Keep in mind that the Tein Basic dampers don't come with the cool pillowball mounts. Those would be ~ $300 more.
