Today I used Teflon Snow and Ice Repellent from DuPont inside the front driver side mud flap to test.

I hope, with this product I don't have to clean the ice every time I parked the car. I will test it and let you know if it works or not.

-It is from a well-known compnay that I trust
-It says "it won't damage the finish of the car", but it also says "contains acetone"...If the acetone they mentioned is the one my wife is using to remove her nail polish, then the paint is in risk...I sprayed carefully...but...

Hmm, might work to some extent, BUT that acetone bit worries me. Are you familiar with Fluid Film?

If it is a recent model car, with clear coat (1990s and newer), Acetone is safe for removing tar/asphalt splashes. Acetone can affect the finish if allowed to soak for a long period of time, however, it evaporates very quickly so this is not usually an issue. Fingernail Polish remover is very often Acetone with scent, as well as many "tar removal" products from an auto parts store. If you wax your car, you'll need to re-apply the wax after washing. the finish tends to turn white/chalky after sitting in sunlight, if the car is washed and waxed, acetone will remove the wax, so re-applying wax is more important than vehicles with a base/clear coat finish.

bottom line is: just spray that area with "wet-tire", and you'll get the same results that are safer. and do you really need this product? i never ever said to myself: i wish snow would fall off on its on in or around the wheel well.

I would wonder if Rustoleum's NeverWet would also work? Perhaps a side-by-side comparison is in order ;)

A product like CQuartz (I assume more expensive, I don't know the price of the dupont product you used) is made for vehicles. Perhaps that would be something to consider as well, since it is tested specifically for your use?
