i was thinking of doing something like that a while back. Using the mafs on one throttle body. I figured, the diameter was smaller and also had less air flow, maybe the configuration was within reason to be able to tune ecu with safc or similar. I finally realized i would be spending to much time matching that airflow to the stock larger body feeding 4 cylinders. I think it could be done, but I decided to learn a thing or two about efi and build my own ecu utilizing map sensor. And that complete ecu above cost about half the price of safc, including palm pilot.

That would be so cool on the dohc. But it sounds like the ecu hasnt been successfully hacked yet, and I dunno know if i would buy a standalone unit. Would the standalone be hard to tune on the ITB setup for a dohc, and how ideal would it be to run with turbo, i know you can make it work, but would it be more worth it to just make a custom short runnner mani and plenum and run the turbo with that?

Check out ztechz.net if you havent already. The dohc ecu can work as well but its much more involved than sohc. It requires a custom made daughter board and other parts, but it has the advantage of possible consult operation. There are a few nissan consult/emulator programs and hardware available, this allows to change all variables in real time, ie full control (and better/cheaper/easier than most standalones).

Only thing needed for itb with turbo, is a fully sealed and pressure tested plenum to join all throttle bodies. You would then just configure turbo setup like normal, with some tuning it could work quite nicely. A mini rb26.

Regular short runner custom intake manifold all in all would be much more simple. But then its not itb.

That standalone im using can be configured/tuned for ITB turbo easily.
